The significance of Jesus' swaddling clothes is often overlooked. But notice that the angel specifically explains that the fact that Jesus will be found in swaddling clothes will be part of His true identity as the Savior (Luke 2:12

To fully understand the importance of Jesus' swaddling clothes we need a little background.

Luke's Gospel is clear that Jesus is the Messiah. which means the anointed one.  In Greek the christos he is the Christ the Son of the living God.

The angel Gabriel tells Mary that her son who is the sword in your hand fighting your battles grew up to be God  in the flesh who carried you and now not only do you carried Him in  our hearts He takes residence as we carried Him in our mind body and spirit.

John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Who now lives in His elect those God has Chosen. He has chosen us before the foundation of the world. He knew us before we were in our mother’s womb.

As we live by His Word living epistsls  carrying God Word in our bellies. As we walk in the Spirit by His words healing our heart, mind, body and Spirit.
