Isiah predicted the breakup of Israel's
alliance. Ahaz Aram Because of this alliance, this expresses IsaIsaiah'spatience God, through Isaiah,
offers Ahaz a sign to confirm His promise. Ahaz, in a false show
of piety, declines. Despite AhaAhaz'sfusal, Isaiah gives a
prophecy of a virgin conceiving a son named Immanuel, symbolizing GodGod'sesence with His people.
If Ahaz simply trusted God's kind of safety delivered through his official
prophet Isaiah, he wouldn't have to bribe Assyria. Therefore, the reason for
AhaAhaz'sfusal of the sign is not trusting God of safety, masking
it with a false pious excuse of not wanting to test the LORD. Why does Ahaz
refuse to seek a sign in Isaiah 7:10-12?
